Our aim is not simply to “get through schoolwork”, but to develop articulate, perceptive, independent thinkers who can write with clarity, sophistication and confidence.

Our approach is structured, diagnostic, and deeply personalised.
What to Expect in 1:1 Sessions
1. Initial consultation and assessment
We begin by discussing:
✓ The student’s current progress in English
✓ Strengths and areas of difficulty
✓ Reading habits (frequency, breadth, complexity)
✓ Learning style and academic goals
✓ Immediate school demands
We then assess writing and reading skills through our own framework, identifying strengths and areas for refinement.
We accept only students who can commit to weekly, term-time tuition (minimum one hour per week).
English is a complex discipline combining knowledge and skill. Improvement requires regular practice, ongoing feedback, consistency and time.
It cannot be mastered through sporadic sessions or short-term intervention. Genuine improvement in writing, analysis and comprehension develops through sustained engagement.
Commitment to Weekly Tuition
Marking & Feedback
We can provide marking and detailed feedback outside of session time. This is charged at the tutor’s normal hourly rate.
However, we strongly believe that feedback is most powerful when delivered live within a one-on-one session. Written comments are valuable, but in-person discussion allows tutors to:

✓ Model stronger alternatives
✓ Probe reasoning
✓ Develop metacognitive awareness

Academic Integrity
We are committed to intellectual honesty. We do not write essays or material that students can submit as their own. While we provide exemplar responses and model paragraphs, our teaching is designed to empower students to think and write independently. We recognise the growing presence of AI tools. However, we believe that genuine academic development requires the ability to reason, structure and articulate ideas without reliance on automation. Our work is most transformative when students are independent, proactive, and academically honest.
Rescheduling and Cancellations
As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, term fees are paid prior to the first session. We allow two cancellations per term. Cancelled sessions (with at least 24 hours’ notice) are credited to the following term. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged in full. Our policies ensure consistency, fairness, and serious commitment from both tutors and families.
